Consumer Reports has come out with a review of 49 cell phones and 22 smartphones, and they’ve given some surprising results. Coming in #1 among the latter was the Samsung Blackjack II. The Blackjack did well in regards to ease of use and talk time. What’s most surprising to me is that Blackberry didn’t weigh in till #5 with the Pearl Flip 8220. Rounding out the top 10 were:
- Samsung Blackjack II
- T-Mobile Wing
- Motorola MOTO Q9c
- T-Mobile Shadow
- Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220
- Pantech Duo
- AT&T Tilt
- Palm Centro 685
- Palm Treo 800w
- Palm Treo 755P
Notice, no iPhone (#11), and no Curve (#17), Bold (nr) or Storm (nr). My tool of choice, the 8830, came in last in the rankings. I happen to disagree with all of their “Lows”, and will note that most of the missing functions they rail against are available through third-party apps, but what do I know.
